MARGAUX DOMEC

Work - Collaborations - Miscellaneous - About

Margaux Domec is a Montreal-based photographer whose practice reconstructs memory to recontextualize familiar spaces. Born in a small French village bordering Geneva, Switzerland, Domec’s work engages in a process of reconstruction and communion with her environment’s past, present, and future. Through this, she examines the cyclical nature of belonging and its power to resurrect moments in time. At the centre of her practice is memory’s potential to carry and express stories. She is particularly drawn to water and light, which she considers guardians of this capacity.

Domec holds a BFA in Photography from Concordia University. Her work has been presented in group exhibitions at Ada X, VAV Gallery, and Espace Loüable, and has been published in Montreal-based SUKO Magazine and Ahoy Literary.
